Carey has indicated Green’s inclusion in the second test match in Delhi-

He’s looking pretty good. I’m not 100 per cent sure (how is progressing) – he’s a fantastic allrounder for the country. It will be nice to see him back soon. How much do you push it, we’ll leave that to the selectors, but he’s looking pretty good.” said Australian wicketkeeper Carey.

The 23-year-old Green injured his finger while batting in the boxing day test match against South Africa in December 2022. The right-hand batter Green was brought by Mumbai Indians for the thumping amount of 17.5 crores in the IPL auctions 2023.

It is the first Test of four and we’re still very positive amongst ourselves that we’ll be able to bounce back in Delhi and get this series back on level (terms) and continue to believe in what we’ve done over the past 12 to 18 months“. added Carey

I think we’re a really strong Test team. We’ve got all bases covered. Unfortunately it didn’t go to plan this first Test, but we’re definitely reinforcing the messages we’ve had leading into the tour“. further added 31-year-old Carey.

Reports have claimed that Young Aussie Allrounder Green was training in Nagpur separately from the squad before the team left for Delhi. The Perth-born lad has played 18 test matches for the Australian side, he has scored 806 runs and took 23 wickets for his side. He was likely to include in the first test match as a batter but was later given rest to recover from the injury.

India will take on Australia for the second test match of the Australia tour of India 2023, at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi from Friday ( 17th February). India has successfully retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy from the last three editions in which two came at down under. Australia last won the test series in India in the 2004-05 series under Ricky Ponting’s captaincy tenure.
