IND VS AUS 2023: Australia is trailing by 0-2 in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against India. The Pat-Cummins-led side lost the second test match at Delhi by six wickets.
The Baggy Greens will be touring England in June 2023 for the Ashes test series, Australian selector Tony Dodemaide, when asked about preparation for the upcoming series in England said their main focus is currently the ongoing India tour.

Australian selector Dodemaide declined to commit to the selection of David Warner in future test series-
“We’re worried about what we can get out of these remaining two Tests, obviously that’s a clear focus for us at the moment,” “We’ll address the Ashes planning (at a later time), but we are committed to picking the best fit and available players for Test series, particularly something as big as the Ashes,” said Dodemaide.
“That’s not a question that we’ve addressed so far.“We are very keen, as everyone I’m sure at home would be, for us to get something out of this remaining series.“We can still draw the series here, but it’s a tough ask in order to do that, there’s no doubt about that,” he further added.
Australian opener David Warner returned home after getting injured in the second test match, the southpaw scored 1 & 10 runs in the Nagpur test match, and in Delhi, the 36-year-old found the nick off Mohammed Shami’s delivery and was dismissed for 15 runs.
Aussie opener Warner was hit by Mohammed Siraj’s delivery on the elbow in the second test match, his X-rays revealed that the left-hander has suffered a hairline fracture in his elbow and would undergo a detailed rehabilitation program.
“Also for the World Test Championship, we’re desperate to get a result out of these last two games,With Mitchell Swepson coming back as well that will essentially give us five spinners in the squad for the remaining two Tests, which is probably too many, really, saving an absolute disaster,” said former Australian cricketer Dodemaide.

The visitors will surely be looking to draw or win the remaining two test matches in the ongoing BGT for World Test Champions (WTC) final this year. The Australian side will miss out on the final if they fail to avoid a 4-0 series sweep against them by team India or Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 2-0. While Men in Blue will reach the WTC finals if they manage to win the third or fourth test match in the series.
The Asian giants will take on Australia for the third match of four test match series at Indore on 1st March 2023.
