In the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian team has taken the lead of 1-0 by beating Australia in the first test match. India’s star opener Shikhar Dhawan will go down in history as one of the best batters for Men in Blue, especially in white ball format. Dhawan has revealed an epic story from India vs Australia clashes, once David Warner sledged him during a game by saying he will be dropped from the next game.

Dhawan reveals what Warner used to say to him during a game-
“Opponents will try to break you mentally, especially in Test matches. Warner used to do that a lot. He told me, “Your place in the Indian team isn’t fixed. You will be dropped!” But then, I also used to sledge him back,” said the left-handed batter.
The 37-year-old has featured for India in 167 ODIs,68 T20Is and 34 test matches, he scored 2315 runs in 58 innings of the longer format of the game. The destructive batter debuted for Men in Blue in style by scoring a quickfire 187 runs in his debut test match. After the inconsistent performance, Delhi-born Dhawan lost his place in the Indian team after 2018 in test matches for Asian Giants.
“He was a gambling addict at one time. So I used to press that nerve. I would reply, you will go back to gambling, you will become an addict again. You will sell everything. See, it’s a rivalry! These things keep happening,” he further added.

Australia is up against India in the second test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Delhi on Friday ( 17th February). The visitors are trailing in the four-match test series by 0-1 against the home side. David Warner’s struggles in Indian pitches have continued as he got out cheaply in both innings of the Nagpur test match.
The left-hand batter Warner averages 22.16 in India after 18 innings. While in Sri Lanka, he only averages 25.22 after 10 Test innings while he has little better records in Pakistan with an average of 33.80 in five innings for Australia. The Baggy Greens last won the test series in India in the 2004-05 series under Ricky Ponting’s captaincy tenure. While the Men in Blue have not lost a test match at Delhi since 1987.
