Indian team is eyeing the 3-0 lead against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023. Men in Blue needs to win at least three matches in four-match series to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. Rohit Sharma in the first over of the morning session survives two incidents against Mitchell Starc bowling, where he was clearly out. Steve Smith-led side rather opted to not take DRS on both incidents.

Seeing Australia’s not opting for the DRS, Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to hilariously troll them. He shared a meme and captioned it, “Australia using DRS: Duggal Review System, where you don’t see or hear anything. #INDvAUS #BGT2023,” shared the meme by the former Indian opener.

Starc was playing his first Test since the Boxing Day match against South Africa, and the tall pacer bowled a magnificent first over against the Indian skipper, on the very first ball of the match Sharma hung his bat outside off and, as the ball zipped through to Wicketkeeper Alex Carey, the Australians went up but the umpire didn’t give any reaction.

Then adding salt to the wound, Rohit got another DRS survival on the fourth ball of the same over. On this occasion, the ball kissed Rohit’s pad and was clearly hitting the stumps. The 35 year, however, wasn’t able to make the most of the two lifelines and got out for 12 runs, he danced down the pitch to hit Matthew Kuhnemann’s delivery in the sixth over of the Indian inning and was stumped.

Earlier, India opted to bat first against Steve Smith-led side at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

The home side made two changes in the third game of BGT, Shubman Gill and Umesh Yadav replace KL Rahul and Mohammed Shami, while in the Baggy Greens playing XI, Mitchell Starc and Cameoon Green came in the place of Pat Cummins and Matt Renshaw. At the stumps of the first day, India was bowled out for 109 runs and Australia was 156/4.
