Australia won the third test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 at Indore by nine wickets, India now has a lead of 2-1 against the visitors. Aussies have qualified for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final after avoiding the clean sweep in the four-match series.
Umesh Yadav bowled a terrific spell at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Dinesh Karthik praised the Indian speedster’s ability to reverse swing the ball.

Karthik thinks that Umesh’s spell was the best among all the pacers in the match-
“I thought he (Umesh Yadav) was the most impressive fast bowler in both the teams. He bowled a terrific spell and showed why he is so good with the reverse swing,” said the veteran Indian cricketer.
The 35-year-old was in limelight initially in Indore, due to his fearless batting approach against the Australian spinners on Day 1. The right-arm pacer continued his brilliance on Day 2, picking up three wickets to ensure that India still had a chance in the third test of BGT.
“Has a bit of a slingy action, so when the reverse swing comes in to play, he is the most handful. One of the better fast bowlers India has had over a period of time, especially in Indian conditions,” he further added.
By getting rid of Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc, and Todd Murphy, Yadav completed 100 Test wickets in India, and in getting the breakthrough, he also broke Kapil Dev’s long-standing Test record as well. Umesh became the fastest pacer to take 100 Test wickets in India in terms of strike rate.
What a peach from Umesh Yadav to reach 100 Test wickets at home.

In the Indore Test, the lower-order batter was also effective with his bat, especially in the first innings, and during his short 13-ball stay at the crease in which he smashed two sixes and scored 17 runs, he equalled Virat Kohli’s sixes record. Virat was playing his 107th Test for India in Indore and has managed to smash 24 sixes in his entire Test career.
Australia beat India by nine wickets and reached the WTC Final 2023, by avoiding a clean sweep in the series. The home side needs to win the fourth test match at Ahmedabad to qualify for the WTC final in England.
