World Test Championship (WTC) Final-

India qualifies for WTC Final in England, as New Zealand won the first test match of the two-match series against Sri Lanka. India needed to win the BGT 2023 series by a 3-1 margin or the Lanka side didn’t manage to clean sweep the series against the ‘Black Caps’, in both scenarios team India would qualify for the title clash.

The WTC final will be played at the Oval from June 7. However, most of the Indian players who will feature in the clash would also be part of IPL 2023, which will be played from March 31 to May 28. While the league games of IPL 16 end on May 21.

I don’t think it will be a huge problem but yeah, look I believe in preparation and preparations will be key for us come the finals,”

Around 21st May, there will be six teams who will possibly be out of IPL playoffs contention and so whichever players are available, we will try and find time to get them to the UK early as possible and get some time and we will monitor as much as possible,” said Sharma on WTC Final and IPL 2023.

Whereas, after the end of the IND VS AUS Test 2023 series, Ravichandran Ashwin emerged as the highest wicket-taker, he was a joint award winner of the player of the series for his 25 wickets in four matches along with Ravindra Jadeja.
