India vs Australia fourth test match at Ahmedabad, on Day 3, India scored 188/2 till Tea in the fourth and last test match of the series. Shubman Gill scored his second ton in the longer format of the game. Gill and Virat Kohli are on the crease for Men in Blue in their first innings.

Australia’s star all-rounder Cameron Green scored his first test century after playing 19 games. He later was labelled as a ‘Once a generation’ cricketer by star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The 23-year-old said after scoring his first test ton-

You feel more like a Test cricketer when you’ve got that monkey off your back, so it is nice to tick that off in a way, It’s so special, said Green,” said Green.

Five times, Green had fallen between 74 and 84 in his 27 innings Test career but shortly after lunch on Day 2 in Ahmedabad he was able to celebrate a significant milestone.

“I hope you tuned into the IPL auction (Green was sold for AU$3.15 million); it just tells you how the Indian cricketing fraternity rates Cameron Green,” Ashwin said.

In his innings of 114 runs, along with Usman Khawaja’s 180 mark, they together shared a 208-run stand to help Australia pile up a huge total of 480 runs in their first innings.

“I think he’s a fantastic player. Just the raw materials for a person as tall as him, lovely levers, good batting sense, can bowl and really hit the deck well, moves pretty well on the field,” he further added.

Australia’s star all-rounder scored his maiden Test ton to put Australia in the driver’s seat in the ongoing game. The highly-rated youngster become the youngest Australian to score a Test ton in India since Michael Clarke’s 151 on debut in 2004.

“These are once-in-a-generation cricketers you are talking about. We come from different countries – India is very different, we can’t protect such players for a long period of time. It’s perform or perish. But in countries like Australia and England, they’re doing pretty well at that. I expect Cameron Green to be a wonderful cricketer down the line,” India’s star off-spinner said.
India is leading the four-test series by 2-1 against Australia in Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023, Aussies are through to the World Test Championship (WTC) final after avoiding the clean sweep in the series. Meanwhile, Team India needs to win the last game of BGT to be assured of a ticket to WTC 2023 final.
