The Australian team posted a huge total in the first innings of their innings in the fourth test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 at Ahemadabad. Usman Khawaja (180) and Cameron Green (114) took the visitors’ innings to the 480 runs mark.
At the end of Day 2, Green was asked about how he adopted the changes while batting in subcontinent pitches, he said he has toured India several times with MRF in Chennai two or three times, the tall lad from Perth also mentioned several other aspects that helped him to get his maiden Test hundred.

The all-rounder answered different questions on the pitch, his hundred and bowling responsibilities-
“Probably not yet. You never know when it would happen. But very grateful. Uzzy helped me a lot. Was really special to have him at the other end. We get to go to MRF tours as young Australian players in Chennai,”
“May be we just have a great group of players in the change room. I think this is a different style of batting,” said Green.
The MRF tour that was mentioned by Australian youngsters, is actually a camp in which Australian National Selection Panel picks youngsters for experiencing the unique conditions in the sub-continent. Player and coaching exchanges between the MRF Pace Foundation and Cricket Australia (CA) have been in place for almost 20 years.
“In Australia you try to get more in line with it. Head is very aggressive with the new ball. I thought may be had a good chance to score runs with the new ball yesterday,” he further added.
Cameron Green and Usman Khawaja were just building a partnership after India got two quick wickets in the post-Tea session on Day 1 of the fourth Test. With Australia at 201/4 after 81 overs, Men in Blue thought to attack with their two premium fast bowlers, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, but the idea just backfired.
