An Indian Becomes A New Number One In Junior Badminton! 1

In Junior badminton, India has a reason to cheer as Siril Verma has retained back his number 1 ranked place. Siril Verma had won a silver medal at the world Junior Badminton championship which saw a rise at the top of BWF Junior rankings. In his short career, he has achieved so much with the finals of Russian Open Grand Prix Gold 2016 being the highlight.

Siril Verma trains under Pullela Gopichand and came to limelight in badminton winning the Under 15 Asian Junior Championship held that was held in 2013. During the same year, he achieved another feat by winning the Badminton Asian Youth Championship. Siril Verma is one the promising players for India including Shivani Gadde, Sourabh Verma, HS Prannoy.

The achievement of Siril Verma augers well for the Indian badminton. It shows that Indian badminton is on the rise. He will be a hope for a medal in the 2020 Olympics to be held in Tokyo.

In the finals of Russian Open Grand Prix Gold, he lost to Malaysia Zulkiffli. Siril Verma is one of the brighter stars in junior badminton and if continues to perform the same way in the future then it will do wonders for Indian badminton.
