Gujarat Titans Comeback man Mohit Sharma revealed that he works a lot with their head coach Ashish Nehra on the kinds of length to bowl in the final overs of an inning and the importance of bowling slower ones in the death overs and also thanked him for his consistent support in the IPL 2023.
Mohit Sharma made a brilliant comeback in this edition of the Indian Premier League and has been the go-to bowler for Hardik Pandya- side in the death overs and has picked up 12 wickets at an outstanding economy rate of 6.96 bowling the tough final overs for the defending champions.
Speaking to the broadcasters after an emphatic win over LSG, Mohit Sharma was seen alongside the Purple cap holder Mohammed Shami said that they have a lot of conversations about the kind of ball to bowl in the death overs based on the pitch conditions.
“It’s Shami who is getting the cap from me, and not me from Shami, hahaha. Yes, we speak a lot about how to bowl with the old ball, how to mix up and do things. We knew that the pitch would turn slower later and executed accordingly,” he added.

The 34-year-old said that he speaks a lot with their head coach Ashish Nehra on the kind of long balls to bowl on the different surfaces and added that his input is invaluable for them to close out the final overs of the innings.
“Yes, I speak a lot with Ashu Paji. Especially, how well you can mix the length ball, which is very necessary and we learn a lot about it. He tells that the length ball needs to be a tad shortish and then it can be very effective. Thank you, sir,” Mohit added.
Defending champions Gujarat Titans is known for keeping their dressing room environment good despite the wins and losses in the league and it also said that Hardik Pandya has a good relationship with their head coach Ashish Nehra which helped in the success of their franchise in IPL.

Mohit Sharma revealed that he has practised a lot to bowl the slower ones, and said that it had picked up a bit of an injury so that he could not bowl the knuckle ball as tried to bowl wider balls to trap the LSG batters.

“Yes, I have practised. I have a little bit of injury in the finger and that’s why unable to bowl the knuckleball, unable to hold it properly. I am trying to dish the line wide of the batters, to trap them,” Mohit Sharma added.
In the game against Lucknow Super Giants, Mohit Sharma picked up four wickets for 29 runs picking up the important wickets of Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis to keep them out of the chase and also took the wickets of Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya in the penultimate over of the match.
