Parthiv Patel has played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under MS Dhoni’s leadership in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL). He last featured in IPL in the 2019 edition.

Patel got indulged in a heated argument after a Twitter user made fun of opposition spinner–Piyush Chawla, as Delhi Capitals (DC) faced straight four losses. It becomes pertinent to mention that the leg-spinner was part of Team India in their two successful World Cup campaigns in 2007 and 2011 respectively.

Whereas, in IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat DC in a nail-biting finish, where veteran Indian spinner Chawla shined with the ball. He bagged three wickets in the game.

Parthiv Patel lashed out at a Twitter user for making a remark on Piyush Chawla-

Delhi Capitals? No. It’s Delhi Capitulates. Too many cricketing brains sitting in the dugout but in the middle, their batsmen were clueless against a leggie who doesn’t even play for his state,” the Twitter user maintained.

That leggie is a 2 time World Cup winner with 161 ipl wickets his name is PIYUSH CHAWLA…and he does play for GUJARAT as a professional player…,” tweeted Patel, who himself has played 139 IPL matches.

Chawla made his debut for Team India in 2006 against England in a Test match–and made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2007, he then went on to play 25 ODIs for the Men in Blue to bag 32 wickets. He last featured for the Asian giants in December 2012 in the longer format of the game.

Whereas in the 16th match of IPL 2023, visitors won the toss and opted to field first at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi. DC’s skipper David Warner scored a steady 51 runs off 47 balls, and got support from Manish Pandey in the middle order, while later in the innings the Aussie star batter joined hands with Axar Patel–the Indian bowling all-rounder played a brilliant knock of 54 runs in 25 balls, eventually Delhi based side was bowled out for 172 runs.

While, in the chase apart from the opening partnership of 71 runs by Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, youngster Tilak Verma came at one down position–and took the game towards MI’s direction with his 41 (29), but as wickets fell continuously game went to the wire but Tim David and Cameroon Green chased down the target on the last ball.

Now, for their 4th game of IPL 16, MI will take on KKR on April 16 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
