The four-time champions side, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will start their campaign in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, on the opening day (March 31) with the clash against defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at Ahmedabad. While everything was not well in the last season for CSK, they could not qualify for the playoffs for the second time in 15 years of IPL, and their newly appointed skipper, Ravindra Jadeja had to be replaced in between the season with MS Dhoni.
In IPL 2022, the star all round was made captain just two days before the start of the season and the team was not able to meet expectations, eventually, they were knocked out after failing to qualify for the playoffs for just the second time in their IPL history.
In the course of events, Jadeja was sacked from the captaincy and it was given back to MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper is leading the Chennai side since the first season of the IPL including four league titles, eventually, the 34-year-old was dropped from the squad, the reason given was injury.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the left arm spinner due to all these mishappenings had, in fact, walked out of the team hotel during the later stages of the 2022 season. The 34-year-old had a “long, frank chat” with Dhoni and franchise CEO, Kasi Viswanathan and the ‘air of misunderstanding‘ between all side were cleared. Jadeja reportedly opened up to MS and Viswanathan on “what irked him” and what he thinks for his and the team’s future.

The south-paw batter wanted to discuss two things with team management last season, the first was his captaincy removal and the second was that he was not being able to perform at his best with both bat and ball. Jadeja scored 116 runs at an average of 19 and claimed five wickets at an economy rate of 7.52.
The star all-rounder is now all set for CSK in IPL 2023 campaign and he has appeared frequently in the franchise’s social media posts. The ace India all-rounder seems to be all smiles in the photos and videos but as reports reveal it was not all well in the last season, which manifested in their performance.
