Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 may have got the best game of the season, after Rinku Singh’s heroics for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Gujarat Titans (GT), with the left-hand batter smashing five sixes in the last over to chase down the target of 205 runs. During his breezy knock, he broke MS Dhoni’s IPL record to score the most runs in the last over while chasing.
Dhoni scored 24 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2019 edition, while chasing 26 runs. The 25-year-old KKR batter’s 48* (21) helped the two-time champion side to win against CSK by three wickets.

Gujarat Titans pacer Yash Dayal crumbled under pressure and errored in his line and length in the final over, which helped Rinku to smash five consecutive sixes. Speaking on their bowling performance, KKR skipper, Nitish Rana feels that his team was bowling well till the 18th over before Vijay Shankar’s brilliant 46 runs in the last two overs.
