We have not seen much of John Cena inside the squared circle since 2017. He has only made sporadic appearances since then that only harmed his strong career graph.
WWE mostly used him to put over newer superstars during his short stints. It is quite assumable as the franchise player is no more coming back to the brand as a full-time player. Rather, he must be focusing on becoming more of a movie star.
With that being said, John Cena admitted that he is no more the superhero that he used to be in his prime. He no more possesses that incredible strength or agility that made him look like ‘Super Cena.’
During an interview with Good Housekeeping, the sixteen-time world champion mentioned this one to be the reason why he has become less active in pro-wrestling,
“As a 42-year-old, going to be 43 in April … I already know that I’m a little lighter, I’m a little slower, I’m not as strong, so all of the physical signs are like, ‘I’m here, I’m here, I’m here. I can’t lie to myself and say those things aren’t happening. They are. And either I accommodate my performance, or just say, ‘Hey, it’s time to do something different.’”
Speaking of his age, the conversation took a turn to parenthood that he may have an allergy towards. We have seen how John Cena had to break up with Nikki Bella with the issue of having children. The Cenation Leader did not want to become the father of his girlfriend, initially.
Although he agreed at one point, it was not enough to convince Nikki to stay around him. As of now, Cena did not show any negativity towards parenthood,
“I don’t have a negative view towards parenting… If anything, I’ve grown to enjoy being around children more and more. I’ve always enjoyed it, but it used to only be in like a performance aspect,” he said. “It’s cool because of how much kids want to learn and how excited they are to learn about the questions that they have, no matter how ridiculous… I just don’t know if I could do it. Or, I’m not sure I’m ready to do it full-time right now.”
John Cena is busy promoting his next movie, Playing with Fire that is set to release on November 8th. He has wrapped up the schedule for the Fast and Furious 9th installment, recently. There’s no update available on when we could see him back in the WWE.
