The match card for WWE Royal Rumble received a major boost up following last night’s episode of SmackDown. Four new announcements were made on the show regarding separate matchups whereas multiple competitors were also added to the Rumble match, itself.

One of the main events of Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns vs. King Baron Corbin will now be contested under No Disqualification rules.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown Full Results: January 17, 2020

The main event of last night’s SmackDown featured Roman Reigns competing against Robert Roode in a Tables Match to pick up the victory. As per the condition set in this match, Reigns earned the right to choose the stipulation for his match with Corbin at Royal Rumble.

Once the match was over, Roman Reigns mentioned that Royal Rumble will be held in a baseball stadium, and he wishes to beat up Corbin all over the venue.

Hence, it will be a Falls Count Anywhere match where they can take the fight anywhere around the arena and the match outcome will not necessarily have to happen inside the ring.

The Fiend Defended Universal Title After WWE Smackdown Went Off The Air

A major stipulation was added for the title match from SmackDown at the first PPV of the night. WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan will battle in a Strap Match at WWE Royal Rumble after what transpired in the opening segment of last night’s show.

Why Vince McMahon May Not Sign Tyson Fury In WWE For WrestleMania?

The Fiend tried to attack a returning Kane on SmackDown during this segment. But Daniel Bryan dropped The Fiend with a running knee as he turned around. The Fiend retreated back through a hole in the ring but Bryan was able to fetch a handful of his hair.

Later, Bryan seemed upset about The Fiend escaping all the time. Hence, he wanted to tie himself with the demon during their title match. WWE.com then confirmed this contest as a Strap Match at Royal Rumble.

Apart from these two announcements, Sheamus vs. Shorty G was confirmed for Royal Rumble alongside the SmackDown women’s title match. Lacey Evans will challenge Bayley in this match. Also, a number of new Rumble match participants were declared for the PPV night. Here’s the currently updated card for the show,
