One of the most famous rivalries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra ahead of the MI vs CSK clash has predicted one change in MS Dhoni-led CSK for their next game at Wankhede Stadium.

Ahead of the star-studded match, Chopra wants CSK to include Dwaine Pretorius in their starting XI instead of Mitchell Santner, for their match against Rohit Sharma-led MI.

Aakash Chopra thinks CSK’s slog overs issue can be resolved with one change-

I see only one change in this team. You can play Dwaine Pretorius in place of Mitchell Santner. I would say play him (Pretorius) because your death-bowling issue might be reduced slightly. Spin will not work that much here, you may not require Mitchell Santner as a batter,” Chopra stated.

Pacer Deepak Chahar went wicketless for CSK in both encounters against Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. He, however, bowled brilliantly to concede only 29 runs from 4 overs against Gujarat. He went for 55 runs in the 4 overs against Lucknow with Kyle Mayers taking him to the cleaners, while Kiwi left-arm spinner, Mitchell Santner has picked one wicket so far in IPL 2023.

Chennai played a good game if you leave aside the wides and no-balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad is doing unparalleled batting and Devon Conway is there alongside him, who has also performed amazingly well. You are still expecting more runs from Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes,” he further added.

Earlier, in CSK’s last match, LSG won the toss and asked the MS Dhoni-led side to bat first in their first game at Chennai since the COVID outbreak in 2020. CSK posted the mammoth total of 217 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs, with the help of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s brilliant 57 runs in 31 balls–and later with Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu‘s contribution in the innings.

While in the chase, after the good opening stand, LSG lost wickets in regular intervals and with former Indian skipper tactical captaincy along with Men in Yellow’s cluster of spinners, they managed to clinch victory in the high-scoring thriller match

Now, with one win and one loss this season, CSK is looking to overcome their shortcoming from the last edition, where they finished in the second-last position on the points table.

Meanwhile, CSK will clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) for their next game in IPL 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
