Indian women’s team ensured on Saturday that the team will not be returning home without any medal. Today, they made sure the medal was gold by defeating the mighty team of Korea 219-215. Deepika Kumari, Bombalya Devi and Rimil Buriuly were the members of the team who were trained under OGQ. The match was running close right from the start, In first set the scores were tied on 56-56. Indians were confident and raring to go with each arrow, whenever they shot a 7 or 6 due to the wind factor, koreans where unable to capitalize on it. The game was tied to the extent of the third set when the score line read 164-164. A 6 by Ki Boe in the first arrow of the final set was turned out to be the turning point as India pipped four tens out of six arrows and ensured the gold medal with two shoots remainig for korea. Deepika Kumari has won medals in three out of the world worldcup stages. In men’s team recurve event, India was eliminated by the silver medalists USA with a one point difference in the quarterfinals. The world cup final stage of this year will be held in Paris which starts on 21-22 September.
