The world no.1 Novak Djokovic retained his no.1 spot this Monday in the latest ATP rankings with 13,845 points. Djokovic matched Nadal’s tally of staying at no.1 for 56 consecutive weeks.

Djokovic’s has now kept his sights on John McEnroe’s tally of 58 weeks which in all probability would be broken as the point difference between him and the no.2 seed Roger Federer is huge.

The Serbian has been in tremendous form right through the 2015 season, comparatively better than the excellent run he had in the year 2011. The Serbian has just lost three matches in the year 2015 so far and doesn’t seem to tire anytime soon and looks as the heavy favourite for the US Open 2015. Djokovic won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year and came as the second best at the French Open losing to the Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in four sets. Djokovic retained his no.1 spot with Roger Federer holding on to his no.2 spot, followed by Andy Murray at the third. The Spaniard Rafael Nadal has been ranked at no.10

The world no.1 has managed to go past some of the records set by the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and the record of John McEnroe’s is next in his radar.
