Paige has often been part of controversial conversations or happening throughout the life which keeps her on pro-wrestling news stories. Now she noted on the mishandling of WWE regarding the women’s tag team title which could have been far better, according to her.
The youngest Divas Champion in the history of the WWE commented on WWE’s handling of the Women’s Tag Team Championships on this past episode of WWE Backstage. According to Paige, the titles have been ‘thrown under the rug’. Those belts are not being treated as seriously as they should have. Paige believes that the initial hypes around the titles have been gone.
“I just feel like the tag team championships haven’t been utilized to their full potential,” Paige said.
“I feel like they are not being defended right, I don’t think they are being used right. They’ve kind of just been thrown under the rug, they are not being taken very seriously. At some point, they have to be taken seriously because this was such a big moment for the women’s divisions to have these tag team titles. Instead of just having one championship, now we have a tag team division.”
It should be noted that Paige has worked as the general manager of SmackDown in the past at such a young age and has the experience of officiating things. She feels that there are some of the existing teams who are good but already established. WWE should now try to build more such good teams as the evolving of fresh talents are extremely needed,
“Bayley and Sasha, they are good, they are solid, we all love them but let’s try and build some other people, you know?”
Paige never had the chance of competing for the Women’s Tag Team Titles but we believe she could bring a lot to the tables if she was cleared for competition. Those belts were inaugurated in WWE on February 17th, 2019. Sasha Banks and Bayley won the titles at the Elimination Chamber PPV of that year before losing them to the Iiconics at WrestleMania after 49 days. Here’s a brief look at the bygone women’s tag team title reigns,
The Kabuki Warriors – Asuka & Kairi Sane) 1x champion, 171 days as champions.
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross 2x champions, 123 days as champions.
The Iiconics – Peyton Royce & Billie Kay) 1x champion, 120 days as champions.
Bayley and Sasha Banks 2x champions, 65+ days as champions.
