Pakistan’s T20 league is in full swing after it kicked off on 13th February. Lahore Qalanadars are the defending champions in PSL 2023. The 20-year-old pacer Ihsanullah picked his maiden five-wicket haul for Multan Sultans in PSL8.

Multan’s right-arm fast bowler expressed his desire to be in Pakistan’s ODI squad for the upcoming World Cup.  He also wished to take a five-wicket haul in his debut match against India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

PSL new sensation reveals his wish to take five-wicket haul against India in ICC ODI World Cup-

I want to make my debut against India in the World Cup and take a five-wicket haul. I want to help Pakistan win, it would give me immense happiness,” said right-arm pacer Ihsanullah.

Since the Swat-born Ihsanullah made his appearance in the game, many former Pakistan cricketers lauded him for his performance. Former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Razzaq has said that he has the potential to clock 100 m/hr. Razzaq believes he could become a key player for the side in future if handled suitably.

Pakistan’s speedster Ihsanullah took five wickets by giving 12 runs in four overs, he assisted his side in a nine-wicket win over the Gladiators in PSL 2023. The youngster clocked over 150 km/h in his first over, during which he also removed former Pakistan skipper and current Quetta captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in India in October-November later this year.

However, suspense remains over the hosting of the Asia Cup 2023, with reports emerging that the tournament could be shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid tensions between India and Pakistan’s governing cricket body. The 2023 Asia Cup will be the 16th edition of the tournament, and the matches played will be of One Day International format.

Ihsanullah is expected to begin in September, and 6 teams are expected to participate in the tournament including India. Sri Lanka is the defending champions, it was originally scheduled to be in 2021 but was postponed due to the packed schedule.
