As seen on recent WWE programming, Drew McIntyre has been on a pretty incredible winning streak. After squashing multiple jobbers, consecutively, he turned his attention on elite superstars in the form of Randy Orton and AJ Styles, this past episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

This set up a triple threat match which he won via clean pinfall over Randy Orton. This will remain one of the biggest wins of his career, for sure.

WWE Planning Surprise Title Match For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 36?

It’s pretty evident that Drew McIntyre is being given a babyface push on WWE RAW. Word is going on that he’s going to be involved in the WWE Championship picture on the road to WrestleMania 36.

Wild rumors even suggest him as the top favorite to win the Royal Rumble 2020 match and then go on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the prime title at the biggest event of the year.

After all, the babyface-turn to take on the biggest heel of the roster could not just be a coincidence only. It’s still not clear whether WWE officials will push Drew McIntyre into the main event picture in due course. But they do have a big reason to continue the push for him.

Real Reason Why WWE Added Brock Lesnar At 2020 Royal Rumble Match

As per the reports of Tom Colohue, the real reason behind WWE pushing Drew McIntyre is because of a new UK TV deal of the company with BT Sport. This man is a talent belonging from the UK who could be handy while promoting WWE products around the country in the near future.

This is a somewhat similar push that Jinder Mahal got back in 2017. He won the WWE Championship to promote WWE products and launch of WWE Shop in India.

Hence, Drew McIntyre fans must not be overjoyed with the current push thinking that a top WrestleMania spot is reserved for him. However, Triple H noted on the former NXT Champion who has all the tools to become the next WWE Champion, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)

“I think it’s a possibility,” Triple H said. “Drew has had an incredible run, started off at such a young age, and he’s still so young now and he’s kind of just coming into his own now as a performer, really. I told him that the sky is the limit for him. He left for a while, he had to go clear himself out and realize what he wanted, and step away and come back even better.”

“He’s an incredibly hard worker and he’s as serious as serious can be. He wants to be the best in the world and, when you have that type of attitude and that strong work ethic, absolutely, it’s a possibility.”
