WWE trimmed down a number of superstars from the roster, last week in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. But they might not have gone, totally, yet.

If current reports are any indications then we may end up seeing some of them on TV on sporadic occasions. The released talents continue to be a part of the company for a certain time span which allows them to appear on the shows if needed.

XFL Bankruptcy Is The Real Reason Why WWE Released Superstars?

Each of the main roster superstars who was released from WWE was given a 90-day ‘no-compete’ clause. It means that they will be within the company’s payroll for the next three months and receive paychecks. They can’t appear or signs contracts with another company until the 90-day clause gets over.

As these released superstars are being paid, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE can end up booking some of them during the upcoming three months of timespan.

“So, the deal is some of this talent, and Drake Maverick is another one. Since they’re being paid for 90 days some of them will continue to be booked.”

WWE has never used any released superstars in the past after letting them go from the contract. But anything can happen when it comes to pro-wrestling especially in this uncertain time. If the recent reports are true then WWE had actually booked a released star on this week’s edition of WWE Raw in the form of Sarah Logan. But eventually, her appearance was scrapped off.

AJ Styles Devastated After WWE Releases His ‘Good Brothers’ The OC

WWE has axed the former Riott Squad member from the roster during the mass release. Dave Meltzer mentioned during Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE had Sarah Logan in the script for this week’s Monday Night Raw.

She was mentioned on several occasions during the matchup between Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott. Sarah was reportedly scheduled to make an appearance, perhaps in this context. But that was canceled after the show started,

“Sarah Logan was actually supposed to be on the show on one of two points during the show and they were mentioning her name.”

“So if Sarah Logan was on the show, but she was not she was in fact scripted to be on the show and after the show started she was taken off the show. Don’t ask me why.”

“People are wondering why are they talking about her? The mentality is that they can use her for 90 days. She was gonna be on the show and then somebody made the call that she’s not gonna be on the show even though it was scripted that they keep saying her name.” (courtesy ringsidenews.com)

WWE took Sarah Logan off WWE Raw but her name stayed in the script. Some fans thought that it was a way to bring her back on television as she was the third wheel of the former Riott Squad faction. That was not the case as she had to sit out, backstage. Perhaps, another released talent would be lucky enough to make it to WWE TV, at some point within three months.
