Revealed: Top 5 Favorites To Become The Next Universal Champion
WWE fans do not like the idea of having Brock Lesnar as the Universal Champion on WWE Raw. He barely shows up and also does not care about the people who want to see more of the championship. Despite this, WWE kept him the champion since 2017 except for a one-off run of Roman Reigns. He won it back at Crown Jewel in November.
With Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 35 coming up, fans do want to see a change on WWE Raw. Furthermore, McMahons promised to give us fresh things. This does not include a lackluster title run from Brock Lesnar. There are many deserving candidates on the flagship show to make the Universal Championship prestigious.
So who are the favorites to capture the red-strapped title once Brock Lesnar drops it? SkyBet has revealed top five names in this list and thereby the ongoing betting odds about the next Universal Champion. None other than Seth Rollins is the most favorite, for now. Here’s the full list,
– Seth Rollins 10/11
– Braun Strowman 5/2
– Drew McIntyre 3/1
– The Rock 14/1
– Bobby Lashley 14/1
This comes as no surprise since WWE officials see Seth Rollins as the next contender for the Universal Championship. As per earlier reports from The Dirty Sheets podcast, Triple H wanted The Architect to dethrone Brock Lesnar from the title run at Wrestlemania 35. He seems the most suitable name to fill up the void left by Roman Reigns.
Vince McMahon sees Braun Strowman in this position due to his favoritism towards the monsters. But Triple H does not buy the idea as he does not see the Monster among Men for a long-time babyface figure. Even McMahon agrees with his son-in-law and might be willing to go with the plans of Triple H. Royal Rumble will decide in which way WWE creatives intend to head.
Earlier the idea of Vince McMahon was to let Braun Strowman win the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble from Brock Lesnar. Drew McIntyre will challenge the monster at Wrestlemania 35 and eventually win the title. This would solidify the top position of the Scottish Psychopath on WWE Raw roster.
Currently, it looks like that the plans will not go like this. Seth Rollins is in the most favorable spot of winning Royal Rumble 2019. He has already confirmed entrance into this 30-man battle royal. Finn Balor and the members of The New Day have also thrown their names into the mix. Also, R-Truth is confirmed to enter in the #30 spot since he has won the Mixed Match Challenge contest. Alongside, Bobby Lashley and Jeff Hardy declared their names, as well.
