Roman Reigns may have not performed at WrestleMania 36 due to the coronavirus pandemic but that does not keep him away from maintaining a connection with his huge fanbase. Being the franchise player, he decided to surprise a young fan who was undergoing treatment at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida earlier this week. The news went viral as the hospital released it.

WrestleMania was canceled entirely from the original host venue of Raymond James Stadium and like everyone else, Anthony settled to watch the event on TV this weekend. The staff at the hospital had other ideas and they contacted Roman Reigns who agreed to surprise Anthony. Since he is in a self-isolation phase, he couldn’t meet the fan live-in-person but rather through a message.
Here’s more from what The Big Dog had to say in his message, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“Reigns opened the surprise video message by introducing himself and telling Anthony he was thinking of him. Anthony said the magic words felt like he was on top of the world. Reigns then said he wanted to visit Anthony. The teenager smiled and laughed in disbelief as he was in shock. He later said all he could say to Reigns was, “Thank you!”
Roman Reigns is involved with such generous works that revolve around the WWE Universe. Being the poster boy of the company, he needs to keep a connection intact with the fanbase and what better way to do so by getting involved in numerous campaigns. Following his battle with Leukemia, he himself started a campaign to raise awareness around the disease.
For the fifth time in his career, Roman Reigns was supposed to be in the main event of WrestleMania to set a record. But the battle with leukemia keeps his immune system weak and thus he decided to pull his name off the card, at the very last moment. There’s no update available on when he would like to be back in the WWE.
