WWE has taken a monumental decision to go with the WrestleMania 36 event as per the schedule which appeared to be a bold move from the world’s point of view. While all the other sports and entertainment related shows came to a halt during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s only WWE who continued to host weekly programming as well as WrestleMania 36.
The vice-president of talent relations in the WWE, Triple H recently appeared on ESPN SportsCenter to discuss the company organizing WrestleMania at a tough time.
Spoiler On NFL Veteran Rob Gronkowski’s WWE Debut Match
The coronavirus-related changes that were made to the show and the safety precautions adopted by the company were touched down by him. Also, The Game openly talked about Roman Reigns pulling himself off the biggest event of the year.
It has been reported earlier that WWE has pre-taped WrestleMania 36 on last week’s Wednesday and Thursday night which will air this weekend in a delayed broadcast. Triple H was asked to opine on WWE’s decision to hold WrestleMania 36, despite the COVID-19 outbreak. In response, he said something relevant which says the world never needed much entertainment than right now,
“WWE, I think our talent, our staff, our crew -that probably now more than ever, entertainment for people is a necessity,” Triple H said (H/T to CagesideSeats). “And them having something that they can tune into, forget about everything that’s going on or what they have happening in their lives or not being able to leave their house, or whatever it is, and just tune out for a few hours, tune into something that’s just fantastical, and just forget about it all. And we feel not only the need to do that but sort of the obligation to do that for people.”
WWE Title Match Result To Be Affected By Wrestlemania Venue Change
The Game continued saying they have gone through enough preventive measures to make the talents safe which is the primary job for them. Medical screening and related tasks were scheduled to take care of the CDC’s instructions. Raw, SmackDown or NXT episodes focusing on WrestleMania were hosted in a way so that not many talents remain present at the venue at the same time.
Revealed: Reason Why WWE Is Hosting Wrestlemania 36 Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Triple H also received the question from the host about Roman Reigns who pulled out of the planned match with WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg. As noted earlier, Roman Reigns was concerned about his health being immunocompromised due to his battles with leukemia.
Then he made the decision to pull out of the WrestleMania match during last week’s tapings. WWE fully co-operated to this decision,
“All of our talent are in this in a voluntary capacity,” Triple H said. “So right at the get go, if they don’t want to be a part of this, if they feel there’s a risk – for whatever reason, be it themselves or somebody around them – they don’t have to be here and there will… nothing is held against them for that. Same with our crew and everybody else. But we don’t want to take chances on that, and with Roman having a pre-existing condition that would make him more susceptible to something, it’s understandable.”
It was mentioned by Triple H that Roman Reigns will be taken out of Wrestlemania 36 in a very unique manner. The drama is about to unfold on this week’s Smackdown which airs tomorrow night on FOX.
