Ronda Rousey is not present on the WWE programming since Wrestlemania 35 has passed by. There’s no real chance to see her back on TV soon except for her gig at Total Divas that starts in October. Originally, the expectation was that WWE would have her back in time for SmackDown’s debut on FOX. But that is not going to be the case as she is busy in pursuing acting stint.

Brock Lesnar Advertised For A Confrontation On Smackdown
According to We Got This Covered, Ronda Rousey is currently set to play She-Hulk in the upcoming Disney Plus series. Rumors have Rosario Dawson is also being eyed for the iconic superhero role along with Ronda Rousey. She is willing to continue her Hollywood career further considering that she may not lengthen the pro-wrestling career. So there’s no real expectation to see her on FOX, as per the demand of the officials.

As a consequence, the WWE creative team had to come up with a backup plan in the form of Brock Lesnar. He appeared as a marquee superstar to cover up the absence of another marquee name that the FOX official always had in mind. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer dictated how Brock Lesnar showing up on SmackDown’s Fox debut could be because Ronda Rousey isn’t available right now,
“Fox will be very interesting, especially on a Friday night. You know, especially since Brock is gonna be on Fox. I don’t know if he’s gonna be permanent, but I sure took that [advertisement] as a sign.”
“When you think about logic Fox probably wants Brock and Ronda and there’s no Ronda and now the second best, or the first best depending on your point of view for that sports person and everything like that [is Lesnar].”
Now, Brock Lesnar is set to compete against Kofi Kingston on October 4th. This is a huge WWE Championship match set for SmackDown Fox debut being the main event. The main reason behind booking this match is nothing else than to possibly change the title to the challenger’s shoulder. Either way, it’s hard to believe that Kofi Kingston will pin Brock Lesnar for the title.
