Former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra has predicted Delhi Capitals’ (DC) playing XI for their next game in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He also reiterated that DC’s star opener Prithvi Shaw has to score runs. Meanwhile, David Warner-led DC has lost two matches straightaway in the 16th edition of IPL.
Whereas before the start of the IPL 2023, the Delhi-based side appointed Warner as their skipper after Rishabh Pant was unavailable for the season due to injury following a horrific car crash.

Aakash Chopra reckons Delhi Capitals situation is very bad-
“Delhi have lost both their matches. Their situation is very bad. I see only one change – you can play Rovman Powell in place of Rilee Rossouw. Sarfaraz Khan and Abishek Porel did well last time. Prithvi Shaw will have to score runs, it’s a no-brainer,” said former Indian Test opener.
Shaw has faced a second successive batting failure in IPL 2023, after being dismissed on 12 runs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their opening game. In the second match, he only managed 7 runs. The Mumbaikar was recently picked in Team India for a T20I series against New Zealand but didn’t feature in any game.
“Warner has shown that he has form, although it might not be gun form, but he can score runs. I think Mitchell Marsh holds the key. It is not going to spin here. The spinners’ role will be less here because a lot of dew comes. The three big names have to do well in batting,” he further added.

So far in IPL 2023, star Australian player Warner has made 56 and 37 runs in both the matches of DC, while in the last game, batting first Delhi Capitals had a poor start losing out 4 wickets for just 67 runs, as their top batters failed miserably with Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, and Rilee Rossouw failed to leave an impact on the match. However, Abishek Porel and Axar Patel put up a cameo to take DC to a decent total of 162 runs.
With 163 runs, to chase Gujarat Titans lost their openers for just 36 runs, with the Tamil Nadu duo Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar stitching a partnership of 53 runs followed by a brilliant cameo by David Miller, helping the team to chase down the total with 11 balls to spare.
