AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe feud is continuing on Smackdown Live from a few weeks ago. These two will compete in a match at Summerslam for the first time in WWE. The WWE Championship will be hanging in the balance between them. Fans do value this feud more than they want to see Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar edition IV for the Universal Championship.
Smackdown has been coming up with fresh things on weekly basis in comparison to WWE Raw. This particular feud was amongst them. Both AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are veteran names in the independent wrestling circuit. They delivered matches worth to watch during their stint at TNA wrestling promotions.
So the anticipation among WWE fans grew bigger once Smackdown GM sanctioned this title match for Summerslam. But they did not have a face-off till date to raise the tensions high before the first AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe bout in the WWE. So we expected to see a final preview of this Sunday’s PPV match on Smackdown.
But the Smackdown creative team wanted to take an otherwise route between these two superstars. They avoided any sort of physical confrontations prior to their Summerslam championship match. AJ Styles arrived in the ring to confess that his temper got the best of him, last week. He is the prime superstar of the blue brand from the get-go. This is ‘the house that AJ Styles built’ which brings along a lot of pressure.
Samoa Joe was cunning enough to verbally attack him right where it matters. AJ Styles is the responsible person and he should have understood it better than anyone. He has to keep his cool in order to retain the WWE Championship at Summerslam.
But the Samoan Submission Machine was in no mood to let him do so. He wrote a fake letter in the name of AJ Styles’ wife where she claimed that his husband is not a good family man. Maybe, he did not want a wife, either. For most of the time of his career, he remained absent from home attending wrestling shows. Now she wished that AJ Styles lose the title at Summerslam so that his pressures softens a bit.
These were the concluding comments from the letter,
“At Summerslam, I pray that you win so AJ can know the feeling of losing the thing he loves the most. Because I lost him a long time ago. My sincerest gratitude, Wendy Styles.”
The WWE Champion was furious at this. He tried to come up with an assault once Smackdown went off the air. But thankfully, the officials pulled him back saving the fight for Summerslam. We can’t wait to see what these two will bring to the table in the first match of their rivalry.
