It seems like the two top names from SmackDown Women’s Division are using their on-screen personas effectively to cover up the shortcomings of the creative team. At present, neither Sasha Banks nor SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley is booked to compete at Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 36.

This apparently turned out to be good news for them as Banks continued to give ‘thanks’ to Vince McMahon.

Sasha Banks Reveals Why She Was Gone From The WWE

During this week’s SmackDown, the Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Naomi and Lacey Evans in tag team action which was a sweet redemption from last week. Afterward, we saw a backstage segment where Bayley claimed to be the strongest woman ever on the roster.

Update On Sasha Banks’ WWE Wrestlemania 36 Status

She joked that she’s not only giving herself the weekend off but also the entire SmackDown women’s division as no one from the blue brand will be seen performing at Elimination Chamber.

The series of interesting comments continued from both Bayley and Sasha Banks on social media which seemed to be a desperate attempt to cover the SmackDown women’s absence from tonight’s pay-per-view. The longest-reigning champ has provided two tweets regarding the issue which are as follow,

“I’m giving myself the weekend off! Thanks @SashaBanksWWE for a great night!”

“After I’ve had the night to think on it, I’d like to encourage my entire #SmackDown women’s locker room to take the weekend off. You guys REALLY need to re-evaluate your priorities heading into mania season…you’re welcome!”

In the meantime, Sasha Banks also took to Twitter to continue thanking Vince McMahon. She seemed to be equally happy for making “easy money” without performing in any tough matches. We wonder whether she was mocking the poor booking with the below tweet instead,

“I love making easy money! No chamber match, no WrestleMania match. Thank you Vince.”

Trish Stratus Hints Feud Against Sasha Banks At WWE Wrestlemania 36

Sasha Banks previously noted that she wished to compete in the WrestleMania kick-off shows so that she does not have to be around the whole show but still get a lucrative paycheck. There’s no update whether it’s the portrayal of her heel character or a try to have a sarcastic note on WWE not giving her relevant matches.

As noted above, both Sasha Banks and Bayley do not have any plans at Elimination Chamber as well as WrestleMania 36. One of the two scheduled Elimination Chamber matches takes place from the RAW women’s division where the winner goes on to face the champion, Becky Lynch, at WrestleMania on April 5.
