Seth Rollins has recently teased a dream feud to become a reality on WWE TV against an 11-time world champion. While speaking with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, Rollins shared his interest to be part of a potential matchup against WWE Hall of Famer Edge. He emphasized that he wants to face the Rated R Superstar who perhaps had the greatest in-ring return, earlier this year.
Confirmed: Former WWE Champion Returning In Action At 2020 Money In The Bank
The Monday Night Messiah boldly claimed that how there’s some “unfinished business” between the two of them from the 2020 Royal Rumble. Edge ganged up on Seth Rollins alongside Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre to eliminate him from the Rumble match. However, that happened for a reason as Rollins “threatened” Edge on Monday Night RAW in the past.
Back in the year 2014, Seth Rollins was having a feud with John Cena and targeted Edge on the final episode of RAW for that year. He threatened Cena (Storyline wise he had the power to bring back Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in charge of Raw) that if he didn’t bring back The Authority, he would hit Edge with a Curb Stomp on Edge onto Money In The Bank briefcase, who was being held down by Big Show. Cena then saved Edge by granting the request.
Becky Lynch Reaches Milestone With WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Seth Rollins believes that all of these past encounters with Edge could provide a good foundation for a storyline if WWE does want to create a fresh angle which the fans wanted to see ever since Edge made his return at Royal Rumble 2020. The full interview of Rollins with McCarthy would be out in the near future when his comments will be detailed.
As mentioned above, Edge made his return from a career-ending injury at Royal Rumble to start a feud against Randy Orton. These two former Rated RKO partners clashed at WrestleMania 36 in a Last Man Standing matchup. Edge ended up winning that bout hitting Orton with a Con-chair-to. Seth Rollins, on the other hand, competed at WrestleMania, losing his match to Kevin Owens.
Roman Reigns Reveals WWE Return Not Possible for THIS REASON
WWE has now been promoting Edge’s return to television on the post Money In The Bank episode of Monday Night RAW on May 11th. He would be back on RAW alongside Randy Orton to reignite the feud, perhaps. Seth Rollins has his eyes glued on getting back the WWE Championship. He faces Drew McIntyre on at Money in the Bank pay-per-view for the most prestigious title present in sports entertainment.
