Suryakumar Yadav Hits Second Successive Century In T20 Tournament
Mumbai cricketer Suryakumar Yadav is currently batting in unstoppable form. The right-handed batsman has hit back-to-back centuries in the ongoing T20 tournament.
Suryakumar Yadav is currently busy in the Dr D.Y. Patil T20 Cup 2020, where he is leading BPCL. After scoring 117 runs in the previous game of this tournament against Central Railway on last Thursday (27th February), he hit another century against DY Patil ‘B’ on Saturday (29th February). This time he played a big knock.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 143 not out
After winning the toss in the latest match, BPCL captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to bat first. Coming to bat as a no.3 batsman in the third over, Yadav guided the team to the giant total. He and Aakarshit Gomel built up the massive 214 runs partnership for the second wicket as both hit centuries in that innings. While the opener Gomel scored 101 runs off 49 balls (9 fours and 6 sixes), Yadav remained not out on 143 runs off 63 balls with seven fours and 14 sixes. These batting helped BPCL to manage the first innings total of 260/4 (20 overs).
In reply, DY Patil ‘B’ were bowled out for 160 runs (17.5 overs) and lost that match by 100 runs.
Also, in the previous game against Central Railway, Suryakumar Yadav scored 117 off 54 balls (7 fours and 10 sixes) and guided the team to the big first innings total of 233/4 (20 overs). In that game, his opponents were restricted to 160/7 (20 overs) as Suryakumar Yadav-led BPCL won that match by 73 runs.
In Group B of the Dr D.Y. Patil T20 Cup 2020, BPCL is leading the points table with eight points after the three matches. Though they lost the first game of this Group Stage against Income Tax by two wickets (on 25th February), they have returned to this competition with the back-to-back two big victories. In their first game of this tournament against Income Tax, BPCL captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 37 runs off 24 balls (4 fours and 2 sixes).
