As noted on this past week’s edition of SmackDown, a huge Triple Threat Ladder Match will go down at WrestleMania 36. The Miz and John Morrison are currently set to defend against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston).
But like a couple of other matches on the WrestleMania card, this one will also be changed to a singles contest ladder match if the recent reports are to go by.
Former WWE Champion The Miz is reportedly off of the WrestleMania 36 card due to illness. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer has noted that the scheduled match between The Miz & John Morrison was changed owing to this reason.
Now, John Morrison will be facing one of The Usos in a ladder match whereas The New Day was withdrawn from the WrestleMania showdown, which might create a very interesting situation.
WrestlingINC.com has reported that Asuka and Cesaro were also out of action due to illness but it looked like both were present during WrestleMania taping. Cesaro is likely to be seen standing by Sami Zayn’s corner when he defends his Intercontinental Championship against Daniel Bryan.
As for Asuka, she was defeated by Alexa Bliss on SmackDown which should lead to set up the final match of the WrestleMania card where she and Kairi Sane defends against Bliss and Nikki Cross.
It was also reported that the current United States Champion Andrade was pulled from WrestleMania 36 card after he suffered an injury. So he won’t be competing at the show or shows who will now get replaced by Austin Theory. He teams up with Angel Garza to face WWE RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) for the titles.
Earlier the plan was to host a singles contest between Andrade and Rey Mysterio in a United States Title match which was scrapped due to the challenger being in a quarantined state.
Former Raw tag team champion, Murphy was scheduled to appear on RAW this past Monday night. But he could not appear as doctors did not clear him for the show. This is why we have not seen Murphy or the AOP standing by their leader Seth Rollins’ side while he was cutting a promo addressing Kevin Owens.
Dave Meltzer added that Murphy was sick and didn’t attend this past week’s television tapings. There’s no update whether this has something to do with the Coronavirus pandemic. The same reason forced Roman Reigns to get ruled out of WrestleMania card who won’t be seen in his scheduled match against Goldberg.
