It’s hard, to sum up in words what we have witnessed in the opening segment of WWE Raw. Roman Reigns had to vacate his Universal title in order to continue his fight against cancer. The shocking announcement made everyone emotional to start the night. The commentators talked about their personal lives changing the atmosphere of the show. Furthermore, the Shield fist-bump in teary eyes was a precious moment as we send our prayers for Reigns’ speedy recovery.

D-Generation X was present on WWE Raw to remind us about their tag team match against Brothers of Destruction. We are seeing these random promos about this contest at Crown Jewel for quite sometimes. So there was nothing new in seeing the confrontation between the four men involved in this matchup. Perhaps, one final meeting inside the ring on next week’s show could give a boost to this match’s buildup.

Braun Strowman received a singles contest against Brock Lesnar for the Universal title. Now, this is a match that the crowd would look forward to witnessing at WWE Crown Jewel. Paul Heyman was present on WWE Raw trying to cut a promo about the upcoming matchup. Lesnar’s opponent can’t be in peace right now as he has to deal with Drew McIntyre at the same time. So this might be a golden opportunity for the beast to win back the gold.

Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella are going through a solid storyline no matter how much backlash is around this matchup. They delivered yet another must-see segment on the show that saw Bella slapping the taste out of Rousey’s mouth. The intense stare in the champion’s eyes indicated how much she is ready to seek redemption. She is ready to break another arm in the form of a former Divas Champion.

Closing moments of WWE Raw were even more surprising than the opening segment. The Shield no more exists now that Dean Ambrose officially turned heel on, Seth Rollins. Some might question whether it was the right night to pull the trigger on Ambrose. But with a ton of emotional people watching the show, this was the right decision from a creative perspective. With Reigns being absent from the flagship show, these two had to carry the load from now on with a solid feud.
