Smackdown kicked off last night with a great promo segment by Randy Orton. This heel Orton looks much better than that of his babyface character. The villainous gimmick is that made him the Apex Predator that he is today.
So we hope to see a lot better from him in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully, Orton will feature in more in-ring competitions from now on.
The opening contest of Smackdown Love was quite entertaining one. Charlotte and Becky Lynch let the IIconics do their heel works effectively during the match. So these two looked better than ever in a contest. The result went in favour of the two babyface names. We wanted to see friction between Charlotte and Lynch following the match which did not happen.
The Miz has been great on the mic lately. He continued the same tradition on Smackdown Live. He continued to deliver heelish promos to build up the matchup against Daniel Bryan. These two will finally collide in a match at Summerslam. The Miz has gone right into the heads of the leader of the Yes nation. It will be interesting how Bryan fires back.
The storyline angle between Zelina Vega and Lana has been quite entertaining. Aiden English is the deciding factor on a weekly basis. It is the fourth time that Aiden costs either Rusev or Lana in their scheduled match. Indications are that Rusev and Aiden might lock horns at Summerslam to settle their differences.
Tag team tournament culminated in the main event of Smackdown Live. This over-delivered to all the extents. The two teams tore each other apart to end this week’s show. The Bar was the better team in this match, but the fans were happy to see The New Day winning. The Unicorns will get another chance to hold the tag team titles.
