Drew McIntyre made history at the night II of Wrestlemania 36 by winning the WWE Championship. He is the first UK-based champion to hold the most prestigious title in sports entertainment.

He had a boyhood dream of holding this belt that came true after a turmoil of more than a decade. For those who know, he became an afterthought in the WWE after debuting more than ten years ago.

He joked about coming for former English soccer star Chris Sutton, with whom he recently shared friendly jabs on Twitter. The WWE Champion also included a challenge to boxing champion Tyson Fury, who had a short run with WWE last year. Check out his comments,

“When it gets backs to normal, the next thing I want to do is fight Chris Sutton,” Drew declared, asking Sports Breakfast co-host Ally McCoist to help organize the fight. “You set it up. Finally, when everything gets back to normal and I can get back to the UK and parade about with the belt, the last thing I want to do is have the match with Sutton. You’d be in my corner.”

Drew McIntyre continued, “I know Tyson Fury is on the show today, as well. I need to bring up Fury because he was talking trash about me, so I know he’s coming on the show. Tell him ‘I saw what you said about me.’ He didn’t care who won the match [between Lesnar and I], he thought I was going to win and thinks he can smash me. Just let him know ‘Fury I’ve won the championship, now I’m paying attention to you’. After I beat Sutton, I’m coming for Fury.”

WWE is said to be interested in bringing back Tyson Fury for another stint following his win against Deontay Wilder.

After this conversation between Fury and Drew McIntyre, they could certainly think about setting up this match, once the current tough situation gets under control. Fury previously defeated Braun Strowman via count-out at WWE Crown Jewel 2019 in October.
