France holds leading position in the points table after beating the hosts Luxemburg by 3-1 while Sweden thrashed Belarus by 4-0. On the other hand, Netherlands’ world cup qualification hugely disheartened after suffering a defeat against Bulgaria by 2-0.
Olivier Giroud put France ahead on 28 minutes while just 6 minutes later, Aurelien Joachim equalised the scoreline for Luxemburg through a penalty. On 37 minutes, France regained their lead through another penalty score by Antoine Griezmann. On 77 minutes, Giroud scored his second goal in the match through a header which was also strengthened the match for France.
Meanwhile, hosts Sweden thrashed Belarus by 4-0. Emil Forsberg opened the scoreline on 19 minutes through a penalty, while he also scored the second goal for his team on just 4 minutes of the second half. The hosts emphasised their lead through the next two goals by Marcus Berg (57′) and Isaac Kiese Thelin (77′) respectively.
On the other hand, three-time FIFA World Cup runners-up Netherlands slipped down to the 4th spot on the points table after suffering a 2-0 defeat against the hosts Bulgaria. Spas Delev (5’ and 20’) scored the both goals for the hosts in the first half.
