Cristiano Ronaldo’s double earned a 3-0 victory for Portugal against Hungary while Switzerland edged past Latvia by 1-0. While the match between Andorra and Faroe Islands ended in a goalless draw.

2016 Euro champions Portugal retained their runners-up position in the points table after clinching a 3-0 home victory against Hungary. Andre Silva opened the scoreline on 32 minutes which was extended by Cristiano with his brace on 36 minutes and 65 minutes respectively.

Earlier in the day, Switzerland retained their top position in the points table after clinching a 1-0 victory against Latvia. Substitute Josip Drmic (66’) scored the only goal of the match through a header.

Whereas, the hosts Andorra failed to earn their first victory in this competition against the 10-man Faroe Islands. The match ended in a goalless draw. Faroe Islands’ footballer Joan Edmundsson was sent off on 74 minutes after receiving two yellow cards (9’ and 74’) in the game. However, Andorra earned their first point in this FIFA WC Qualifiers with this draw.
