Goldberg had one last match at SummerSlam 2019, earlier this year. He made a surprise return to set up a match against Dolph Ziggler. It appeared to be a short contest where the legend squashed WWE’s show-off with spears and jackhammers. Even a well-planned post-match segment was there too hinting that Goldberg may come back in due course.

However, there’s still no update on what could be next for the career of the WWE Hall of Famer. There is always a possibility that WWE may offer him another big payday against a top Superstar from either RAW and SmackDown. Being an old school veteran, Goldberg picks his matches wisely and hence he may not return until a satisfactory offer.

During the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, a conversation between the two hosts nurtured whether it’s possible to see a match where Goldberg may end up facing Braun Strowman. After the big loss at Clash Of Champions, the Monster among Men has no current rival standing against him.
So Bryan Alvarez mentioned whether WWE may bring back Brock Lesnar on Raw to start the rivalry. But that will not be the case as the duo already had feuded, for a couple of times. As of now, WWE is trying to protect Braun Strowman and it’s not expected that he will digest two back to back losses.

Alvarez then wanted Goldberg to step into the picture and face Strowman in a match. Dave Meltzer nixed the idea since former WCW Champion will not be coming back for a match against a super babyface like Braun Strowman. Check out their conversations,

Meltzer: Lesnar is not around just yet.
Alvarez: Goldberg, so Goldberg can squash him in 30 seconds?
Meltzer: Goldberg is not going to face him as a babyface.”
So Goldberg will have to wait for the perfect opponent that he will be looking forward whereas Braun Strowman will have to search for a new opponent from the Raw roster.
