Brock Lesnar is back on TV who will make an appearance on the Smackdown 20th anniversary on October 4th. The debut show on FOX will be about the big news that he will be back in action on weekly TV for the first time in 15 years. He will challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship in a much-anticipated match.

Moving forward, Brock Lesnar will play a big role to carry the Smackdown brand on the new host platform. According to Slice Wrestling, Lesnar is now set to become the “Face Of SmackDown” on FOX after he wins the WWE Championship. Officials of the host network want a “sports feel” and he is the most legitimate athlete in WWE today. This is why spoilers are already out indicating that a title change is imminent, next week.

WWE never had a roster member like Brock Lesnar who had also been a professional combat athlete in UFC. Back in his heyday in MMA, he used to be a rating-booster on FOX for a long time before re-signing with the WWE. So, it’s no wonder that they want him back on the marquee spotlight, as early as possible. This is what Dave Meltzer said about the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“When they announced Brock Lesnar for the [October 4th edition of Friday Night SmackDown] you know things sort of just add up in the sense that FOX wants to be sports-like and Brock is like their legitimate athlete. So I could see Brock winning the title, I’m not saying he’s going to, but it feels to me going to FOX early on that Vince [McMahon] would rather have Brock as Champion than Kofi Kingston.”
