A lot of speculations are going on regarding Shane McMahon’s WWE status after it was reported that he may be next in line to run the company once his father steps down. With the Co-Presidents of the WWE making their exit from the brand, Vince McMahon is in search of new names to be included in the list of names who would take care of things from a corporate perspective.

Spoiler On A Big Debut On This Week’s Episode Of WWE Raw

Shane McMahon is said to be a perfect name to do so as he helped with the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match last month. He was involved in ‘lending a hand’ that weekend which was supposed to be a gearing-up process for him to look into the internal matters of the WWE corporate world.

While it’s a matter of time that we could eventually see him becoming a regular name in this context, there’s no option available for him to be back on TV, as of now.

It was noted by Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Shane McMahon is usually not around these days. He is not officially working a producer or an agent, or any other related role. As for the inaugural pay-per-view event of the decade, he was simply in charge of helping out to culminate the big Royal Rumble Match which needs a lot of backstage works. This is the reason why he was called back on board.

Thus, Shane-O-Mac ended up working as a Producer on the Royal Rumble main event match, along with Chris Park (Abyss), Jamie Noble, and Lance Storm. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman are also the reported names who gave valuable inputs for the early part of the match.

We should note in this context that Shane has worked in the creative team, prior to this and so it was not surprising to see him getting involved at backstage works.

As for TV, Shane McMahon has been out of the programming since coming up short at the “Loser Leaves WWE” Ladder Match to Kevin Owens back on October 4th which marked the mega debut of SmackDown on FOX. This was a way to write WWE’s prodigal son off the storylines perspective. There’s no update available on him getting involved in any future program which assures that he’d be missing WrestleMania after four years.
