The Undertaker hasn’t been seen wrestling inside the squared circle since Extreme Rules last year. He won that last match by teaming up with Roman Reigns against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon where he looked in great shape. This started speculations of seeing him in more number of appearances which was not the case. However, he’ll be back for WrestleMania 36.

Previously there were negatives updates regarding the Undertaker when it comes to the biggest event of the year. WWE was reportedly planning to bank his appearance for future Saudi Arabia shows or the other shows where ticket selling would be tough. But the Phenome would be back to perform in his holy ground against the Phenomenal One.
It is being suggested via Wrestling Observer Radio that John Cena has a WrestleMania opponent that would be “underwhelming” and “ridiculous.” Dave Meltzer couldn’t explain why WWE nurtured such a plan for Cena, but he spilled out good reasons why WWE has planned The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles will be going down.

Apparently, WWE wants to book The Undertaker against Styles, the top heel to protect the latter one’s momentums. A loss against the greatest sports entertainer of all-time would not hurt Styles’ strong status,
“At least in some ways I can understand that match. At least #1 AJ Styles is a heel. #2 AJ Styles can lose to Undertaker and it ain’t gonna hurt him at all. #3 If you’re gonna have Undertaker in match you might as well have it against one of your best guys so it doesn’t suck, you know what I mean?”
“You know and one things is most guys really that wrestle Undertaker and lose doesn’t really get hurt by it. The way AJ’s been positioned it’s not gonna hurt. So, it’s just a way to get Undertaker on the card.”

The seeds of the match have already been planted on this past episode of Monday Night Raw. AJ Styles came out to claim himself as the new Mr. Wrestlemania to win the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy Gauntlet Match and then call out some of the legends to face him.
There’s no update on when The Undertaker would show up to confirm the matchup. But it won’t happen until Super ShowDown since AJ is currently out of action with a separated shoulder suffered at Royal Rumble 2020.
