Following that, Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship in 2017 defeating Randy Orton in Backlash PPV. The Great Khali also played a pivotal role in his reign by returning at Battleground. He helped Mahal to retain in a Punjabi Prison match innovated by him. He did not show up in any WWE event afterward. Building up a bigger CWE, is his main propaganda, nowadays.
