As reported earlier, WWE had to deal with a major bump on the Road to WrestleMania 36 when the franchise player pulled himself out of the show affecting one of the main events of the night.
He withdrew himself out of the match this past week at the WrestleMania 36 tapings because he wasn’t comfortable wrestling at the WWE Performance Center amid the coronavirus pandemic. He is immunocompromised from his earlier battle with leukemia.
Former WWE Champion Sick; Wrestlemania 36 Title Match To Be Changed
According to the spoilers revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Braun Strowman will be replacing Roman Reigns against WWE Universal Champion Goldberg at WrestleMania 36.
The source noted that Roman was present at the Performance Center when he made the call to pull himself out of the match. The Miz was sick and the Usos were not happy how it played into making their cousin’s decision.

Meltzer also noted that the Braun Strowman vs. Goldberg match over the WWE Universal Championship was taped this past week. It is believed that an angle to build the match has also been shot at the Performance Center which we can see on this Friday night’s episode of SmackDown.
WrestleMania 36 was taped this past Wednesday and Thursday night which will air on April 4th and 5th on the WWE Network.

The interesting thing is that WWE is still promoting Roman Reigns vs Goldberg for WrestleMania 36. This past edition of SmackDown witnessed Michael Cole continuing to hype the match with promotional graphics and all.
They also aired Reigns vs. Triple H from WrestleMania 32, where Triple H made his prediction regarding the upcoming match. They even advertised Roman Reigns vs. WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg in a final face-off before WrestleMania 36 on the next episode of SmackDown.

Something involving Braun Strowman will take place during this segment which would make a drastic change around the WrestleMania 36 card. Thus, the dream Spear vs. Spear contest won’t be taking place at WrestleMania 36. It’ll be very interesting to see how perhaps the main event of WrestleMania 36 would get changed at the very last minute.
These three have once shared the ring back in 2017 where Reigns and Goldberg speared Strowman. Perhaps, that reference could be used but the confirmation will only be received when SmackDown airs with the latest episode.
