WWE News: Why WWE Is Hosting Biggest Reunion In Raw History On Monday?
We are likely to witness the biggest episode of WWE Raw on next week where a huge party is waiting for us. WWE is advertising the night as the ‘biggest reunion’ of all-time where a number of legends will re-appear at the same time. It will basically be bringing back the old school era back to please the WWE Universe.
— WWE (@WWE) July 18, 2019
WWE first aired the commercial promoting the upcoming episode after the No Holds Barred match at Extreme Rules PPV event. They confirmed names like Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Jerry Lawler, Eric Bischoff, Jimmy Hart, Santino Marella, D-Von Dudley, Shane Helms, Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Sgt. Slaughter, Ted DiBiase Sr. and The Boogeyman.
Additionally, they have sent invitations to Bubba Rey Dudley as noted by him on social media. But he was under contract with ROH promotion that may not allow him to appear on a TV show hosted by the WWE. We have to wait and see whether the promotion allows him to appear or nix the idea. WWE also invited Hall of Famer Jim Ross for the show who denied the offer as confirmed by him.
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan did not have any problem with his appearance. But the veteran commentator wanted to dodge the biggest reunion of WWE Raw. Additional reports from WrestlingINC.com and The Wrestling Observer Radio featuring Dave Meltzer suggested that it was an idea of the USA Network to host this reunion show.
But Brad Shepard wiped out that saying that WWE itself was planning this for a long time. Bringing this number of legends on one single night is not a matter of joke. They have planned for a long time to put all the plans together and thereby received success,
“According to a source in #WWE, the rumor of the Raw reunion show being held at the suggestion of the USA Network is false. This show has been in the planning stages since January and Vince McMahon is behind it.”
This particular episode of WWE Raw had also added Sean Waltman (X-Pac), Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Christian, and Triple H into the card. Overall, 35 or more names should show up on this night when WWE’s flagship show returns to the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The company could take care of the TV ratings as well as start hype for next year’s Wrestlemania 36 which takes place in the same city.
