WWE Champion Daniel Bryan kicked off last night’s Smackdown Live from Las Vegas, Nevada. We saw him coming out wearing his in-ring gear that hinted of a match in the opening segment of the night. However, there was a full-on surprise in the form of his opponent. It was none other than the ‘heart and soul of 205 Live’ named Mustafa Ali. He ended up having the debut match on the main roster against the prime champion on Smackdown.
The new Daniel Bryan started bragging about his accolades ever since turning into a heel. He also blasted the Las Vegas crowd for not being in his side, at all. Furthermore, the next shot was against AJ Styles whom he will wrestle at WWE TLC. He claimed to become victorious with ease when the match happens on this Sunday night. The trash-talking continued for sometimes until Mustafa Ali came out to the arena.
He asked straight to Bryan’ face about what happened to the earlier version of him. There’s no piece left of a dignified Daniel Bryan, right now. But the WWE Champion felt immense pleasure to talk about himself on the show. Plus, he disrespected Mustafa Ali trying to humiliate him in front of the audience. A slap to the face of Ali insinuated the physical confrontation between the two on Smackdown.
This forced the officials to arrange a match between Daniel Bryan and Mustafa Ali. This turned out to be the opening contest of the night. Daniel Bryan was in full control from the get-go of the contest. He delivered some of the kicks to the chest until the high-flyer came back with a big superkick.
Daniel Bryan was able to lock in the heel-hook to hurt Ali’s legs. But the Cruiserweight showed tremendous resilience and went to deliver the inverted 450-splash. The WWE Champion moved away and locked in the heel hook on his opponent, once again. Mustafa Ali had no choice but to tap out against to suffer his first loss on the main roster.
His bad night did not come to an end after the match. Daniel Bryan continued to lock in the heel hook on Mustafa Ali even when the match was over. The officials ran out to the ring to finally break the hold. AJ Styles could do nothing as this would prevent him from competing at WWE TLC.
