courtesy WWE.com

The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair is going on from Summerslam onwards. This was the night when the latter one won the Smackdown women’s championship from Carmella. It was originally going to be a singles contest between Becky Lynch and Carmella. So Becky turned heel on that night attacking Charlotte Flair from behind. Since then, she has been able to put the Smackdown women’s division on notice.

Smackdown audience appreciated her heel antics and cheered for her no matter what. Afterward, they even began to boo Charlotte Flair despite her being the babyface superstar. This led to a championship match at Hell in a Cell where Becky Lynch won the title for the second time. We have also witnessed a rematch between the two at Super Show Down.

Charlotte Flair almost dethroned the reigning champion from her throne. Becky Lynch intentionally disqualified herself in order to retain on that night by hitting Charlotte Flair with the championship. So last night’s match on Smackdown had a stipulation that suggested if Becky Lynch does the same, she’d lose the title. This was an additional attraction of the matchup.

But it looked like Becky Lynch found a new way to escape from Charlotte Flair. She was in control of the match for the beginning part of the match hitting some kicks. She also hit a leg-drop before Charlotte started to counter. Becky wanted to grab the title once again and hit the contender from behind but the referee almost disqualified it. So Becky Lynch had to deliver a Bexploder followed up with a suplex.

But Charlotte kicked out of that and took the fight to outside. She hit a suplex of her own before connecting with a Natural Selection. The champion wisely rolled out of the ring to save the day. Thereafter, the referee had no choice but to count both women out leading to a no contest. Charlotte Flair became furious and hit a spear on Becky Lynch through the LED board.

But the good news was waiting for her later on the show. The Smackdown general manager gave her another opportunity for the Smackdown women’s championship. She announced another rematch at Evolution PPV with the Last Woman Standing stipulation. Here are the confirmations from WWE.com,

“For the last few weeks, the question has been whether Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair is the better woman. At WWE Evolution, the fate of the SmackDown Women’s Championship will come down to a far simpler matter: Whichever one is left standing. The Irish Lass Kicker and the Flair heiress will do battle in the first-ever Last Woman Standing Match at the historic, all-women pay-per-view event.”

With that being said, it is almost certain that the rivalry between these two superstars will continue for the next several weeks. It might even continue until the Survivor Series PPV in November.
