WWE News: Championship Match And Segments Announced For Christmas Edition Of Smackdown
Next week, WWE Smackdown will air on the evening of 25th of December. As reported earlier, it will not be a live edition of the show. Rather, we will get a taped version to entertain the crowd for Christmas. Smackdown always wants to keep something fresh on the card and they have come up with some massive segments for the special night of the year. It will also be the final episode from the blue brand in 2018.
The major attraction of the night will be a championship match on the card. The United States Championship will be on the line between Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura. The latter one is the current champion holding the prestigious US title since this year’s summer. But he failed to make an impact on the show since the creative team could not arrange proper storylines for him.
It’s pretty unfortunate that he started his first full-fledged rivalry against Ruse a few weeks ago only over the title. The Bulgarian Brute was able to pin Nakamura in a tag team match, one week ago. This earned him a championship opportunity in the future. Well, the McMahon family sanctioned the match to air on next week’s Smackdown. The newly became babyface Rusev will get a golden chance to become the new United States Champion on the evening of Christmas.
On the other hand, another rivalry will culminate on the show when Jeff Hardy goes one-on-one against Jeff Hardy. This rivalry has become quite personal for the past several weeks. Joe is making fun of the Charismatic Enigma talking about his addiction to alcoholic substances. This is something disgusting that someone can mention on TV on a regular basis.
But Samoa Joe has been doing the same fuelling up the anger within Jeff Hardy. Last night, he tried to infuriate Hardy, once again with some verbal jabs. But Jeff Hardy managed to come back dropping Joe with a Twist of Fate. Next week, the Grand Slam Winner will receive a golden opportunity to seek retribution against the bonafide heel. This match between the two bitter rivals in TNA should become the match of the night.
Smackdown will also deliver a must-see edition of The Miz TV, next week. The A-lister is demanding Shane McMahon as his tag team partner to become the co-besties in the world. This storyline started ever since McMahon won the ‘best in the world’ trophy at Crown Jewel. With his official duties on the show, it’s tough for him to perform inside the ring. We will see if Shane McMahon obliges to the demands of The Miz on the Christmas edition of Miz TV.
