WWE News: Final Lineup Set For WWE Mixed Match Challenge II At WWE TLC
Mixed Match Challenge reached its semi-final on last night’s episode. Two matches took place on the show to set up the final match of the second season. It will take place at the TLC PPV on this Sunday night. The winners will get an entry to the number 30 spot at Royal Rumble. Plus, they will get to have a tour at any place of their choice.
From team Raw, the two teams locked horns were Team Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal-Alicia Fox) against Apollo Crews-Bayley. Finn Balor was the original partner of Bayley who is now out of the scene due to an injury. This forced WWE to arrange the backup name of Apollo Crews in the spot of Finn Balor. We wondered whether Apollo could bring success to his team.
He tried to win the match all he could but the distractions came into play. Bayley hit Bayley-to-belly to both the Singh Brothers to put them away. But this allowed Alicia Fox to deliver a big boot from the back to earn the pinfall win. Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox became the first team to enter the Mixed Match Challenge season II finale. It was unthinkable at one point as they lost the first three matches of the series.
From Smackdown Live, Team Awe-ska (The Miz-Asuka) was up against Team Fabulous Truth (Carmella-R-Truth). The team of The Miz and Asuka were the favorites to win the match for all valid reasons. They were the season I winner of the Mixed Match Challenge and continued the dominance, even this year.
But this team failed to co-exist as the match progressed. Asuka was already irate after competing in the Wrestlemania rematch on Smackdown. The Miz did worse by sending her into a superkick from Carmella. Plus he did not tag his partner into the match. An irate Asuka came up with a flurry of strikes onto The Miz at the end of the match. R-Truth rolled Miz up to pick up the victory. They will now meet Team Mahalicia in the final set for WWE TLC. Here are confirmations from WWE.com,
“At WWE TLC, Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox will battle R-Truth & Carmella in Mixed Match Challenge Season 2 Finals. Who will triumph in the Finals? Find out this Sunday at WWE TLC!”
