Update on Bayley vs. Nikki Cross on SmackDown
Kaitlyn faced off against a newly signed female wrestler from Impact Knockout division, Katie Forbes and South African wrestler Black Widow in a triple threat to win the title. This is the first major win of her career following the end of her WWE career in 2014. It will be interesting to see how the promotion uses this popular name on their roster who can bring attention on behalf of them.
In case you have followed the WWE career of Kaitlyn, you will be aware that she was the winner of the inaugural NXT season for the female superstars. Thereafter, WWE promoted her to the main roster which led her to the Divas Championship win.
The rivalry between her and AJ Lee will always remain a benchmark one during an era where the women superstars received the least importance.
So WWE Universe thought that she’d eventually be a cornerstone Diva for the company. However, she focused more on her personal life and decided to walk away from the limelight. On what could be the peak time of her career, Kaitlyn decided not to re-sign with WWE.
After being away from WWE for over four years, she returned to compete at the 2018 Mae Young Classic by defeating Kavita Devi in the first round. But then she lost to Mia Yim in the second round and lost the chance to sign a new contract with the WWE.
