WWE News: Former Divas Champion Willing To Return To WWE In A New Role
Paige was back on WWE programming for a short appearance on both WWE Raw and Smackdown. She received short segments on February 4th and 5th episodes of weekly live TV programming. WWE brought her on these shows on a short term notice that came as a big surprise for the audience in attendance.
The former WWE Divas Champion has always been a bigger attraction on WWE programming. So it was a real pleasure to get her back on TV. On WWE Raw, Paige was live in attendance to show up and promote the upcoming movie Fighting With My Family. It has been receiving big-time promotions by the central character as well as The Rock.
Now although he was back, we did not get any hints of what is in store for her in the WWE in future. But speaking with Sky Sports, the two-time former champion might have made her intentions clear about working in a different role. She showed interests in working as a manager for any of the talents in the WWE roster.
Paige clarified in her statements that she loves to talk a lot. So giving her a mic would be a good idea. Whoever talent talks less can take help of one of the best promo-deliverers of the women’s division. This will allow her to be part of an active WWE programming which she desperately needs. Here’s more from her,
“At this point, I don’t know. I’d love to be a manager for somebody. I don’t know who put that’s something I’d love to do so I’ll put that out there in the universe. I just want to be part of the company. I love this company and I love to talk a lot so give me a microphone and I’ll give it a good old-fashioned try. I loved being general manager and it was a surprise to me (to stop that) but WWE evolves all the time and you have to evolve and deal with it.”
The anti-Diva of the WWE programming did a tremendous job as the General Manager on SmackDown Live. She received appreciations from the audience as well as the critics. Her involvements in all of the aspects came as a big attraction on the show. But unfortunately, that stint came to a quick end within just seven months of time.
The McMahons took over the WWE programming from December 2018 onwards showing the exit door. Shane McMahon informed us that Paige might receive a backup role in the future. But to date, we have not seen any such plans. For now, she will be continuing her filming campaigns. She was also present promoting Fighting with My Family at Sundance Film Festival 2019.
